What are Daily Challenges?

Daily challenges are assigned to each player randomly everyday, they will be assigned even if you do not log in on that day. The challenges will normally be available for 5 days before they are bumped from your list by a new assignment. You can have up to a maximum of 5 different challenges if you're a RuneScape member or 2 challenges if you're Free-to-play. When you turn in a challenge the challenges older than that challenge will have an extra day added to the amount of time you have to complete it; meaning if you keep completing your new challenges you can keep old ones there indefinitely. You can, however, only have one challenge for each skill at a time. So if, for example, you keep a Cooking challenge, then you will not be able to get another Cooking challenge until you either complete the one you have or let it expire.

Extensions and Rerolls

For Members, it is possible to extend or reroll a daily task using Vis wax. This can be done either by Activating the Vis wax, thus opening the challenge interface, or by manually opening the interface using the Adventures tab (compass icon on your ribbon bar).

  • 50 Vis wax
  • Will double your chosen challenge
  • Can only be used once per challenge
  • Can be done on a challenge at any point BEFORE turning it in (incomplete, partially completed, or completed)
• Reroll
  • 25 Vis wax
  • Will give you the option between your current task and another
  • Choosing to keep your current task will not refund your Vis wax
  • Challenges can only be rerolled once

Blocking Challenges

When you reach the maximum level in a skill you can ask Challenge Mistress Fara, Challenge Mistress Heriau, or Challenge Mistress Rashida to disable all daily challenges for that skill. Level 120 is considered max level for: Dungeoneering, Farming, Herblore, and Slayer. Skills that you can block have a silver border, and those that you currently have blocked will have a red X through them. Free players can block challenges in Member skills at the level five skill cap. If they then log into a Members' world, it will become unblocked.

Rewards

Completing a daily challenge will reward you with experience equal to a Huge prismatic lamp, see table below, in the associated skill and 1 Key for Treasure Hunter. If you are turning in a Combat challenge you will receive an experience lamp, which can be used on any combat skill, whereas in other challenges the experience is automatically given in the skill. You keep all items you collect or make. Free to play accounts will get 75% of the experience and no Treasure Hunter keys.
